Vibram Five Fingers

The Vibram barefoot running shoes have become the latest craze in the running community. The Vibram fivefingers were originally developed for use in yachting and have now been widely adopted by those who want to run in a shoe that is close to being barefoot while wearing a shoe. The Vibram five fingers is really just a covering for the foot and each toe with no cushioning and no support. As it is so minimal the Vibram five fingers mimics the action of barefoot running as the shoe does not alter the way that the foot functions like a traditional running shoe would. There is some controversy around the Vibram Five Fingers as it can a factor in getting an injury if time is not spent adapting to them after a life time of running in the traditional running shoe. There are several class actions against Vibrams at the moment!
